Norman Wayne Cross, 93, of Sutherlin, OR, a proud WWII Marine veteran, passed quietly away on Sunday morning, November 20, 2016.

Norm was born on April 10, 1923 to Lovie and William Cross in Chelan, WA. On August 12, 1945, he married the love of his life for 71 years, Barbara Jean Ernsberger in Snohomish, WA. Norm loved life and people, and was often referred fondly to by many as “Uncle Norm”.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; his 2 sons, Gerald “Jerry” &(Carol) of Yoncalla, OR, and Randal “Randy” & (Judy) of Bellingham, WA; 4 grandchildren, Kerrie, Laurie, Jason, and Jenny; and 8 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his 9 siblings.

The family wishes to thank the Umpqua Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Roseburg, OR, for their loving care and support; as well as Wilson’s Chapel of the Roses for all of the arrangements.

The family will hold a private Celebration of Life service at Christmas.
