Ruth C.  Cramer (Richards)
Ruth Passed away May 2 2017 at the age of 91 surrounded by her loving family. She was born Sept. 21 1925 in Sutherlin Or. to parents John J. Richards and Eva M. Richards (Pepiot)
Ruth lived in the Sutherlin/Roseburg area her entire life. She attended Lookingglass Elementary School and Roseburg High School.
Ruth worked as a payroll clerk at Marks Market, School Dist. 4, and retired as payroll clerk at Douglas Community Hospital where she was honored as employee of the year. During her working career she made many friends.
In 1943 Ruth married R.C. Laurance and out of that marriage was born three children into the family – Johnny, Angela and Janice. In 1969 she married Jay Cramer who brought three children into the family – Julie, David and Carl.
In years past Ruth enjoyed many trips to Reno with Jay, family and friends. She enjoyed working with the SMART readers program at green school. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting and crocheting. Most of all she enjoyed family functions, especially the annual 4th of July family reunion. She was always willing to help anyone in need, family or friend.
Ruth is survived by Johnny (Ginger), Angela, Julie (Curt), David, and Carl (Julie). Grandchildren Kim (Troy), Kirk (Lisa), Bobby (Kim), Mark, Kari, Marci, Brian, Nick, Eric, Brandi and Amber. Eleven Great Grandchildren, three Great Great Grandchildren, Sister-in-Law Nellie Rose Richards and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jay, brother Bud Richards; sister, Waitha Kirby, daughter Janice Shigley and Son-in-Law David Carter.
Mom will be sorrowfully missed by her loving family and all who knew her. Mom may be gone but will forever be in our hearts. She left behind many great memories that we will forever cherish.
Services for Ruth will be Sat. May 13th 2017 at 2:00p.m. at Wilson’s Chapel for the Roses with Pastor Charlie Jordan officiating. Viewing for those who wish will be from 9:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. at Wilson’s Chapel of the Roses on that same day. In lieu of flowers the family wishes to have donations made to Mercy Hospice.
The Family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Mercy Hospice Team and the staff and her friends at Riverview Terrace.
