Obituary for Jagan N Kaul PhD

Jagan N Kaul PhD
Dr. Jagan N. Kaul was born in Srinagar, Kashmir, India, on June 3, 1928. He participated in India’s non-violent movement for independence through political activism and journalism. In 1970, he relocated to the United States and settled in South Dakota, where he married his wife, Maureen. In the United States, he pursued a career in education by earning a Ph.D. in Political Science. He then taught in several universities in the Midwest. He remained politically active throughout his life. Dr. Kaul became a citizen in 1983 and after retirement, he and his family relocated to Roseburg in 2002.

He is survived by two sisters in India, Jaya and Sheela, as well as many close relatives in India; his wife, Maureen; his son, Dr. Kiran Kaul and his two grandchildren, Piper and Alaric Kaul. Above all else, he valued and loved his family unconditionally.
