Obituary for Delton McNeill "Mickey" Walker

DELTON McNEILL (MICKEY) WALKER 63, of Roseburg, Oregon passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 after a two year battle with cancer. He was born in Roseburg, Oregon on July 28, 1954 to Delton E. and Helen Walker and lived in Roseburg his entire life. Upon graduating from Roseburg High School in 1972, Mickey went to work for Engle Construction Company where he indulged his passion for working in the logging industry and operating heavy equipment. Mickey was also a skilled automobile mechanic after spending much of his adolescence working for his father and uncle, Edgar Walker at Walker Bros Auto Repair. Upon his father’s death in 1983, he and his mother became partners and have managed the business together ever since. He loved living in Douglas County and spent countless hours exploring forest road, deer hunting, horseback riding and enjoying his extended family at his farm in the Garden Valley area. Mickey is survived by his wife and greatest love of his life, Colleen; daughters Brandi Morris and Shalisa Shockey; son Daniel; mother Helen Walker; siblings Nancy Merz and Mark Walker; grandchildren Damien, Grace, Luke and Jaxon. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Floral Building at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Mickey’s memory to the Treva Hoffman Foundation, P.O. Box 367, Winchester, Oregon 97495. Private cremation rites have been held.
