Obituary for Dorene O'Neal (Steinberg)

Dorene O'Neal, age 94, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017, after a 12-month fight with cancer, and due to complications from hip surgery.
Dorene was born in Fremont, NE, to Shirley and Marguerite (Jackson) Steinburg. She was the second of five children. She grew up in Salina, KS, prior to the great depression, then her family moved to Iola, KS where she attended 1st grade.
Dorene married Garland O'Neal in July of 1940, and raised three children.
She loved to paint and filled her home with her beautiful artwork. She was an inspiration to her daughters and granddaughter who took up painting as well.
Her love of traveling took her around the world. She traveled to many parts of the United States, to Germany, Switzerland, Ireland, and the Yucatan in Mexico.
Dorene is survived by her three children, Garvin, Margaret and Lori; her grandchildren, Tammy, Heath, and Blaine; her great-grandchildren, Devin, Dalton, Denom and Laken. She is also survived by her brother, Duane; her sister, Shirlene; and special niece, Leslie.
Graveside services will be held at Roseburg Memorial Gardens on Monday, December 11, 2017, at 2 p.m. Please visit Dorene's web site at www.wilsonschapeloftherosesfh.com to leave fond memories.
