Russell Dean Jones
RUSSELL D. JONES 87 of Roseburg, Oregon passed away December 21, 2017 at his home. He was born August 8, 1930 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Claude and Oddie Jones. Russell graduated from high school and enlisted in the U.S. Army, was released and joined the U.S. Navy where he was also released and joined the U.S. Air Force where he retired as a TSgt in 1970. He worked in retail for 40 years. Russell enjoyed gardening, and traveling. He was a family man who enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and family. Russell attended The Father’s House in Sutherlin, Oregon. Survivors include his wife of 41 years Myrna Jones; daughter Debra Duffett and her husband Michael; son David Jones; 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Russell was preceded in death by his parents; son Steven Jones, sisters Louise, Marie and Phyllis, and a brother Claude. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11:30 am at Wilson’s Chapel of the Roses. Graveside services with Military Honors will follow at 1:00 pm within the grounds of Roseburg National Cemetery. Pastor Bill Sanders will officiate.
